Elbow create their own beer

Elbow have come up with a novel – and, may we say, genius – way of promoting their new album. They’ve produced a beer to go along with it.

The beer is produced by Robinson’s brewery of Stockport, near the bands’ Manchester homeland. It’s called ‘build a rocket boys!’, after their album of the same name.

The new beer is being brewed to Elbow’s own specifications after a series of beer tastings at the brewery. Lucky guys! Band members sampled a range of Robinsons’ ales to shortlist their preferred style of beer, taste and colour before deciding on a golden ale with a rich rounded body, smooth bitterness, subtle tang of malt and fruity aroma. Sounds like a good choice.

John Robinson, Brand Manager at Robinsons Brewery said: “We are delighted to partner Elbow- not only do they genuinely enjoy a good pint of cask ale, but their fans comfortably fit the profile of our core customers.  We’re looking forward to pulling the first pint of ‘build a rocket boys!’ at its official launch at the Manchester Food & Drink Festival in October.”

The beer will also be sold during freshers’ week at universities across the North West, so grab your pint next term!
